Ravut / Crayfish
Joen pohjalla
Illan hämärtyessä joen pohjalla alkaa tapahtua. Ravut ryömivät ulos koloistaan ja lähtevät yöllisille ravinnonhaku retkilleen. Ravut syövät pääasiassa simpukoita, kotiloita, vesihyönteisiä sekä eläviä ja kuolleita vesikasveja. Pimeyden laskeutuessa pohjilla käy jo vilske ja vilinä kun kaikki ravut ovat uskaltautuneet ulos koloistaan. Parhaista ravintokohteista, kuten kuolleista kaloista taistellaan hurjasti. Ravuilla on vahva hierarkia. Pienimmät ja arimmat kiertävät dominoivat yksilöt kaukaa.
On the river bottom
On the river bottom there begins to happen in the dusk of the evening. Crayfish are crawling out of the hiding places and begin their nightly search for nutrition. Crayfish eat mainly slowly moving bottom fauna like mussels, gastropod, and caddis fly larvae as well as live and dead aquatic plants. On the descent of darkness there will be hustle and bustle on the river bottom when even the smallest crayfish have been encouraged enough to emerge from their cavities. There is a strong hierarchy between the crayfish. Highly nutritious food like fish invites hardly fights of the ownership of the treasure. Smaller individuals must run a mile the dominant fighters.
